Manal B. Hafidh and Usama H. Ramadhan*
ABSTRACT
Hypertensive patients suffer from cardiovascular diseases and every now and then uncontrolled blood pressure. Subjects were chosen from Al-Faiha Teaching Hospital, the total numbers were 146 subjects, 60 excluded and the remainder divided into 25 control (normal people) and 61 hypertensive patients. Body mass index and lipids parameters were measured. Also, peptides corresponding nesfatine-1, spexin and apelin concentration were measured. Nesfatin-1 has a negative correlation with systolic and diastolic pressure. On the other hand, nesfatin-1 has a positive or normal correlation with lipids parameters like DLDL, triglyceride, non-HDL, LDL, Ultra HDL (UHDL) and cholesterol. Furthermore, nesfatin-1 has a positive correlation with
apelin. The spexin has a positive correlation with lipids parameters except for triglyceride it was a negative relationship.
