THE CLINICAL STUDY TO EVALUATE EFFICACY OF KHANDA KHUSHMANDA PAK IN THE MANAGEMENT OF ASRIGDAR

ABSTRACT
Healthy reproductive life of woman is denoted by ‘Normal Menstruation ‘.Menstruation is a natural physiological phenomenon in women’s life, commencement of which is marked by ‘Menarche ‘whereas its cessation is called as ‘Menopause’. Time span between Menarche and Menopause is called as Reproductive period. It occurs periodically for one month and consist of assorted intetmittent phases. Endonetrium prepared for conception On failure of the same leads to shedding called menses. Normal menstruation occurs for 2-7 days and blood loss ranging between 20-80ml1. The Menstrual rhythm depends upon hypothalamo-pitutary- ovarian axis whereas the amount of blood loss depend upon uterine condition.Deviation in any of the above is Abnormal uterine bleeding. Due to alteration in food habits and
changing life styles, incidence of irregular and heavy uterine bleeding is increasing. Acharya Charak mentioned that the artava which comes once in a month, without piccha means without any inner layer of shleshma kala or clots, without pain and burning sensation, not in excess and not less in amount, which flows for 5 days in a menstruating period is said to be pure.
