IN-VITRO ANTI MICROBIAL ACTIVITY OF MORINGA OLEIFERA ROOT AND LEAF EXTRACTS-A COMPARATIVE STUDY

ABSTRACT
Microbial infections possessing major challenge for mankind. Natural products are safe and effective alternative for synthetic drugs. Moringa oleifera is one of the important medicinal plants of India and may have potential antimicrobial activity and be useful in treating infectious diseases. In this study, the antimicrobial activity of the ethanolic extracts of roots and leaves was studied against selected pathogenic Bacteria by agar disc diffusion method in comparison with standard Ampicillin. Both extracts show significant antimicrobial activity and can be developed as safe, effective, and alternative drugs for treating microbial infections.
