Abstract

A CLINICAL EVALUATION OF PANCAT?NAM?LA KW?THA AND ARV?RUB?J?DI Y?GA IN THE MANAGEMENT OF PITTAJA M?TRAK?CCHRA

ABSTRACT

The vyādhi (disease) Pittaja Mūtrakṛcchra is well acknowledged in classical texts of Ayurveda, with different treatment modalities, which can be concurrent to urinary tract infection on theoretical and clinical symptomatology of diseases. It is regarded as dukhena or kṛcchrena mūtrapravṛtti i.e. painful micturition or dysuria. Urinary tract infections are second most widespread type of infectivity in the body secretarial for about 8.1 million visits to health concern provider every year. UTI commonly encounters with Escherichia coli accounts for about 85% of community acquired. The present study was aimed to evaluate the Efficacy of Pancatṛnamūla Kwātha and Arvārubījādi Yōga in Pittaja Mūtrakṛcchra. In this study, a total of 40 patients with age group between 20 to 50 years were selected randomly from Out-Patient department as per randomization chart containing 20 patients in each group. Group A were given Pancatṛnamūla Kwātha and Group B were given Arvārubījādi chūrņa Yōga for a period of 90 days with continuous weekly follow-up for 12 weeks. Along with the medicine pathya āhāra and vihāra were advised to the subjects. The results obtained after the clinical trial was analysed statistically and all the observations were subjected for discussion. The result has been concluded that Ayurvedic anubhūta Yōga is efficacious in the management of Pittaja Mūtrakṛcchra (Cystitis).
