ABSTRACT
Binders are often used to get the desired effect of the granules sticking together. This ensures that the tablet will remain intact during the compression process. Scientists are currently researching this field of research with the goal of discovering innovative excipients that may be used as binding agents in tablet formulations. This is due to the fact that the mechanical strength of a tablet and the properties associated with drug release may need to be optimised for one binding agent over another, depending on the intended pharmacological application of the tablet. Alternatives to synthetic binders like PVP that are made from natural ingredients, such as the many kinds of starch, gums, mucilages, and dried fruits, are not only risk-free but also more economical.
