Incineration process is carried out after the bhasma is prepared to give the proper red colour to the bhasma. Lohitikaran is mentioned especially for Abhrak Bhasma. The information of Lohitikaran is not found in all Rasashastra texts. This procedure is described in some of the texts of Rasashastra. Rasa tarangini and Ayurved Prakash described this process of Lohitikaran. The specific word Lohitikaran is found only in Rasatarangini. By giving no. of Putas Colour of Abhrak bhasma turns blackish. To give proper brick red colour to Abhrak bhasma bhavana of specific dravyas is given to the Bhasma. Discussion- Different dravyas are used in lohitikaran process. Mainly Vatankur is observed in all the references. By giving bhavana of these dravyas to Abhrak bhasma followed by Puta colour of Abhrak bhasma becomes red. Action of all these bhavana dravyas is also on Rakatavaha strotas. So by lohitikaran process action of Abhrak bhasma on Raktavaha strotas will also be increased. To find out this action chemical analysis and further clinical study is also required.
