ABSTRACT

Rasashastra can be defined as a pharmaceutical branch of Indian system of medicine that mainly deals with the metals, minerals, animal origin product, toxic herbs and their use in therapeutics. Rasashastra is categorized in various vargas, like maharas, Upras, sadharan rasa, etc. This article deals with the details of muktashukti its shodhan, maran, and its therapeutic uses. Muktashukti is an animal origin drug found to be very effective in various diseases. This article gives a detailed review of mukta shukti,its classical methods of shodhan, maran and pishti preparation etc.
