CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF MAJJA DHATU W. S. R BONE MARROW: A REVIEW

ABSTRACT

Ayurveda is based on the principals of Samyavasatha of all its basic entities for sustenance of life. Dhatu are the major structural components which nourish, support and keep the body healthy. Majja Dhatu is considered as the 6th Dhatu of the series. According to Ayurveda, Majja Dhatu is the Snehatva of Meda Dhatu. Meda is considered as Moola (root) of Asthivaha Srotas and Asthi and Sandhi are considered as its Moola. According to modern point of view, Majja Dhatu can be viewed as Bone Marrow. In this article, Analysis of Majja Dhatu is done according to Ayurveda and Modern Point of view. Also critical analysis of Majja Dhatu as Mastulunga is been done in this work.
