ABSTRACT
Health-related quality of life (HRQoL) refers to a person's overall sense of well-being or well-being, including their psychological, social, and physical health. Chemotherapy is a therapy given by using cytostatic drugs that are inserted into the body through an intravenous or oral route. This study aims to determine the effect of chemotherapy use on health-related quality of life (HRQoL) and what domains most influence the quality of life of cervical cancer patients. This research was conducted prospectively with a cross-sectional method. Data were collected through the EORTC QLQ C-30 questionnaire (European Organization Research and Treatment Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire-Core30) to observe the function scale, symptom scale, and general health scale as well as data collection from the patient's medical record to determine the chemotherapy used by the patient. There were 31 patients who met the inclusion criteria. The results showed that demographic stage, duration of diagnosis, type of chemotherapy, chemotherapy cycle, and chemotherapy settings affected the HRQoL value of cervical cancer patients (P<0.05) while age, occupation, and education level did not affect the HRQoL of cervical cancer patients (p>0.05).). Domains that affect the decline in quality of life are social function, fatigue, and symptoms of nausea and vomiting, while the domains of cognitive function and diarrhea have good HRQoL values. Based on the results of the study, the overall HRQoL value of cervical cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy at Dr. RSUP. M. Djamil Padang is in the moderate category out of 3 categories (bad, moderate, and good).
