ABSTRACT
Compared to monotherapy, combined therapy is presenting more advantages. Since it can lower expenses, decrease the frequency of adverse effects, and boost therapeutic efficacy, this approach in the treatment of diseases that are challenging to manage is welcomed. This study aimed to evaluate prednisone and acetaminophen's individual and combined cytotoxic effects on human uterine adenocarcinoma cells in vitro using the MTT assay. According to the results, the cytotoxic effect against the HeLa cell line can be induced by both prednisone and acetaminophen, whereby prednisone reduced cell viability more than acetaminophen. Furthermore, the prednisone-
acetaminophen mixture showed synergistic effect and exhibited higher cytotoxic potential than it is implied by their individual response curves. These drugs are known as easily available, affordable, and generally safe compared to chemotherapy. Thus, our findings are valuable when considering these drugs as potential novel adjuvant anticancer therapy. To confirm our findings, additional well-designed clinical trials are needed.
