ABSTRACT
The study included partial isolation of hepcidin and interleukin-6 From the serum of a patient with Down syndrome at the age of 11 years using various biochemical techniques such as precipitation with ammonium sulfate at a concentration of 70%, dialysis and ion exchange. The effective concentration of hepcidin was (8.3nq\mg) and (5.09 pq\mg) for interleukin-6 after precipitation with ammonium sulfate, the effective concentration of hepcidin was reached to (8.78 nq \mg) and (5.36 pq\mg) for interleukin-6After dialysis while the effective concentration of hepcidin(71.09 nq\mg) and (81 pq\mg) for interleukin-6 after ion exchange chromatography , the purification fold
for hepcidin was (12.25) and(29.45) for interleukin-6 after ion exchange chromatography The molecular weight was also estimated using the electrophoresis technique and it was within (95 ) and (75) K Daltons for hepcidin and interleukin-6 respectively.
