ABSTRACT
L- Asparaginase (Periplasmic amidohydrolase), E.C. 3.5.1.1 is an enzyme with great biological value. It is used as a drug to cure Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Besides being used as a drug it is also used as food processing agent. In the present investigation we tried to isolate the fungal organism Aspergillus niger since the fungal microorganisms have always proven to be the most effective sources of L-Asparaginase The enzyme production was enhanced on the cheap raw materials, (OCF) and (CGH) and it was observed that the substrate CGH had showed maximum specific activity.
Keywords: Acute Lymphoblastic leukemia, Aspergillus niger, Cheap raw material, L-Asparaginase, Periplasmic amidohydrolase.
