ABSTRACT
India is an agriculturally based country. Majority of people depends on agriculture as their source of income and it is the primary occupation of every second Indian. The need of pesticide is as important as irrigation itself as to avoid the growth of pests and aphids for the same purpose synthetic pesticides are employed but they come with potential hazards and toxicities that are difficult to treat and may leave serious effects on individuals even after the treatment so as an alternative we can prefer herbal pesticide and insect repellant so as to avoid the toxicities as well as the spoilage from pests. There are many plants
showing promising pesticidal properties one of which is neem. Neem has been used traditionally from a long time and its benefits are well stated in the literature since a long time. Thus, a pesticide and insect repellant composed of neem oil can be promising for the action is hypothesized. In this research work we have focused on obtaining an herbal pesticidal and insect repellant properties of neem and prepared a formulation base promising with the action. All the necessary guidelines were followed and the formulation was developed and evaluated for its physicochemical properties.
