ABSTRACT
Millions of people around the world depend on traditional medicinal plants to treat many diseases. They possess healing properties due to the presence of several complex chemical substances of different compositions, present as phytochemicals in one or more parts of these plants. These plant metabolites are classified according to their composition into alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins, etc. Guiera senegalensis (Gs), which grows abundantly in semi-desert areas of West Africa such as Nigeria, has been used to treat certain diseases and injuries. The study is conducted to investigate the phytochemical analysis, toxicity and antifungal activity of G. senegalensis leaf extract.
Keywords: Antifungal properties, Bioactive compounds, Phytochemical analysis, Toxicity and Guiera senegalensis (Gs).
