A REVIEW IN ATHLETIC PERSONS DRUG ABUSE ALL OVER THE WORLD

ABSTRACT
Drug abuse occurs at most levels of competition and also in all sports. There are number of reasons for which athletic life may lead to drug abuse such as to deal with stressors like pressure to perform, physical pain, injuries, retirement from sports etc., to self treat otherwise untreated mental illness and also for performance enhancement. The history of doping in athletes is examined in this review such as side effects of doping, treatment of affected athletes, the role of anti-doping, and the effects of different classes of substances used for doping. Prior to the development of organized sports, the doping goes back to the ancient times. Advances in scientific research that can lead
to the discovery and with advances in doping startegies driven by improved drug testing detection methods, the performance enhancing drugs have continued to evolve. For the people caught using them have very strict consequences and also the use of performance enhancing drugs have come to ban by many sorts organizations. For the various substances that are used for doping has variable evidence for the performance enhancing effects and the side effects. When indicated, pharmacologic interventions, preventive measures, education, motivational interviewing, should be addressed for drug abuse in athletes.
