MUSHROOM AS A NUTRACOSMETICEUTICAL DRUG: REVIEW

ABSTRACT
There are many nutraceuticals available in the natural habitat, among which mushrooms are the nutraceuticals having medicinal, and cosmeceutical properties. So these mushrooms act as nutracosmetic agents. Mushrooms were getting attention worldwide as they are obtained from natural sources with some unique properties like ant diabetic, antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, antitumor, and hepatoprotective. Mushrooms contain various chemical constituents like phenolic, polyphenols, terpenoids, selenium, polysaccharides, vitamins, and volatile organic compounds. Mushrooms from the neutraceuticals group possess activity like antioxidant, anti-aging, anti- wrinkle, skin whitening, and moisturizing effects so mushrooms were the ideal ingredient for cosmetic products.
