ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI)-BASED TOOLS AND TECHNIQUES IN THE NEW DRUG DISCOVERY PROCESS

ABSTRACT
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is an algorithmic language developed to mimic human intelligence for the interpretation of complex data in a faster way. AI can be a new platform to the computational method of the drug discovery process for expanding and emerging to a new level. AI plays a vital role in improving the traditional way of drug design. AI-based software help researcher in decision making, data analysis, data interpretation, and visual optimization. It also helps to search and score the big data. Not only that, AI plays an important role in the real world for chemical synthesis. It can guide the researcher to build the synthetic scheme. The traditional drug discovery process is very tedious, time-consuming, and extremely expensive. It takes around 10-
12 years to discover one drug from target selection to approval. There is hardly any rationale to follow the stepwise pathway for drug design in the traditional way of drug designing. This review article explained the application of AI-based tools and techniques in the drug discovery process in a simple language. The present study tried to provide the knowledge of new technology and its performance in a simplistic way.
