ABSTRACT

Rasashastra (Indian alchemy) forms the basis of ayurvedic pharmaceutics. it contains information about preparations of drugs from metallic and mineral origin. the present work will highlight the ingredients, actions, preparation, of Kasantaka rasa on disease kasa which is mentioned in Bhaishajya ratnavali in kasa rogadikara. kasantaka rasa is a form of kalviya rasayana it is a combination of metallic, mineral and herbal preparation which are easily accessible and a simple method of preparation hence an effort is made to review kasantaka rasa for its Kasahara property.
