ROLE OF SHATAPUSHAPA CHURNA IN STANYA KSHAYA

ABSTRACT
Breast milk provides the primary source of nutrition or almost whole source for newborns and it is ideal form of feeding in neonate. Stnayakshaya is common problem noticed in mothers especially with primiparous women and the incidence has been estimated to range from 23% to 63% during the first 4 months after delivery. Emotional stress, anxiety and maternal illness are the various psychosomatic factors that influence the production of milk. A total 10 patients who fulfilled the inclusion criteria were selected randomly. The assessment were made before the treatment on the 1st day and after the treatment on the 30th day after completion of the treatment. Shatapushpa churna (6gms) is administered with milk twice a day for one month and follow up after
in every week. Initially we are noted and changes in signs and symptoms in each follow up. Shatapushpa churna showed to be effective in increasing the stanya and it is a Stanayajanakadravya.
