ANALYTICAL STUDY OF NIKUR HERBAL HAIR OIL – AMBROISA FOR SCALP & HAIR

ABSTRACT
Healthy, long and vibrant hair helps a lot in improvement of personality. Therefore, to keep hair in healthy state is entirely duty of human being, because just like face, hair is also a mirror of healthy state of body. Hair loss or Alopecia is a common and distressing clinical complaint among all age groups. It can be due to varied reasons, that can be congenital or acquired. In Ayurveda, falling of hair (Khalitya or Keshapatana) is described in detail along with numerous formulations for managing this condition. In Ayurveda herbs, Herbo- mineral formulations are used for the hair and scalp ailments. Due to high safety and accurate action of so many herbal compounds on Khalitya, Phalitya, there is increase in the demand of their preparations. NIKUR HERBAL HAIR OIL is an Anubhuta Yoga, which
is prepared on ayurvedic guidelines of Sneha Kalpana. An attempt has been made in the present study to prepare Nikur herbal hair oil and analyses it for its Organoleptic properties, Acid value, Iodine value, Moisture content W/W and Saponification value, Refractive index, unsaponifiable matter. All the parameters are found to be good and within the standard parameters.
