ABSTRACT
Invasomes are novel vesicular systems that exhibit improved transdermal penetration compared to conventional liposomes. Acyclovir is a class of antiviral medicine used for viral infection treatment. Acyclovir has low bioavailability mainly due to low solubility. The purpose of this paper was to develop a new topical Acyclovir invasomes incorporated gel. Different formulation prepared for Acyclovir loaded in to invasomes by mechanical dispersion technique. The maximum drug content was found in formulation TIG-2 (99.12±0.25) and selected as optimized formulation. When the regression coefficient values were compared, it was observed that ‘r2’
values of higuchi was maximum 0.994 hence indicating drug release from formulations was found to follow higuchi release kinetic.
