ABSTRACT
Herbal drugs are reported to have remarkable advantages over conventional formulations of plant actives and extracts which include improves the solubility, bioavailability, expansion of stability, sustained delivery, improved tissue macrophages distribution, protection from toxicity and also improves pharmacological activity as well as it shows protection from physical and chemical degradation. The main objective of this study is to research on green synthesis of silver nanoparticles from aqueous extract of Pterocarpus marsupium bark and wood and its characterization and to compare the antidiabetic effect of Pterocarpus marsupium and its silver nanoparticles. Silver nanoparticles containing Pterocarpus marsupium extract are found to be effective for anti-diabetic activity. The review study also reveals
that without using any chemical reagent as stabilizing agent the silver nanoparticles are stable, so this is eco-friendly as well as cost effective method and this method is highly promising for the future in management of diabetes mellitus.
