A CLINICAL EVALUATION OF KHADIRADI VATIKA IN THE MANAGEMENT OF SARAVASARA ROGA(MUKHPAKA) W.S.R. TO APHTHOUS ULCER.

ABSTRACT
Mukha means fooje~ i.e. cavity and structures in the cavity.¼”kCndYinzqe 5@20½.[1] Mukha according to Ayurveda includes Ostha, Danta, Dtantamoola, Talu, Jihwa, Kantha and Sarvaani (Sakalam). ‘Paka pakhti’ means inflammation, ulceration in mukhpradesh is known as „aanan paka‟. Sarvasara Roga (mukhpaka) is a Khapha pitta predominant disease and can be correlated with Aphthous ulcer according to symptomatology. Khadiradi Vatika having kapha shamaka properties is taken as a drug of choice to control Sarvasara Roga. So present study was done on 10 patients of Mukhpaka and Khadiradi Vatika is given to them to evaluate the local effect of drug. The signs and symptoms were studied before and after treatment.
Results of study showed, 10% patients were cured, 10% were markedly improved, 60% patients had moderate improvement and 20% had mild improvement.
