A REVIEW ON PHARMACOVIGILANCE AND ADR REPORTING

ABSTRACT

Pharmacovigilance is the science & activities relating to the detection, assessment, understanding and prevention of adverse effects of drugs. This article reviews the pharmacovigilance programme in india, adr reporting and importance. ADR reporting is important to ensure the safer drugs use throughout the world. pharmacovigilance is system to monitor the safety and effectiveness of medicines and other pharmaceutical products. Duration of trials is limited we may miss ADR that develop after years in post marketing phase. Pharmacovigilance Programme in India lauched with a broad objective to safe guard the health of people of India. The aim of this review is to collect and analyse current available knowledge on pharmacovigilance, Pharmacovigilance Programme in, adverse drug reaction.
