CONCEPT OF SNEHAPANA IN KUSHTA – A REVIEW

ABSTRACT

Snehana, one among the Shadvidha Upakrama is meant for the purpose of imparting Snehana in Shodhana, Shamana or Brimhana. Kushta, one among the Bahudoshavastha is a clear indication for Shodhana. As it is Kledapradhaana Vyadhi a keen assessment of Dosha, Dhatu and Sneha Snigdha Lakshana is essential during the course of treatment. Snehana in the form of Shodhananga and Shamananga is required in this condition. The present paper explains the need and action of Abhyantara Snehana in Kushta Chikitsa.
