A LITERARY REVIEW ON SARS-CoV-2

ABSTRACT
In early December 2019, an outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by a novel severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), occurred in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China. On January 7, a novel coronavirus, originally abbreviated as 2019-nCoV by WHO, was identified from the throat swab sample of a patient. This pathogen was later renamed as severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) by the WHO. The coronavirus pandemic has changed the prime concern of the whole medical society. In this literature review, the causative agent, history, pathogenesis and immune responses, transmission,
diagnosis, risk factors, control and preventions strategies of SARS-CoV-2 are all reviewed.
