DISEASE FIGHTING FOOD MESURES IN AYURVEDA WSR TO VATARAKTA

ABSTRACT
Ayurved is science which “life” (life of knowledge) is understood or by which “life” (long & healthy life) is attained1. Association of miseries/suffering with man are known as Vyadhi (disease). Manas (mind) & sarira (body) are the seats of disease are proper administration of purifactory & palliative therapies & use of food & activities properly. The understanding of ideal definition of health & dhatu samya is very essential for human beings in order to attain the first pursuit of life for attaining hita & sukha ayu. In ayurveda health means the state of doshasamya, agnisamya & dhatusamya as well as wellness of atma, indriya & mana. Acharya Charaka says in annapaniya adhyay about importance of food. Ahara (food) is the sustainers of living beings & also cause for their strength,
colour/complexion & vigour. When the person does not follow the directions of Ayurveda in regard to Ahara, nidra, Brihmacharya collectively known as “Traya Upastambha” the person become ill. Due to improper use of above three supports of life so many diseases takes place, out of them one is the Vatarakta (Gout), which consist of swelling including burning pain in the metatarsophalangers joints initially followed by the other joints, resulting in inability to walk. Vata prakopa, rakta dusti and obstruction in the path of vata is core pathology in thedisease. The pathology of this disease originates in blood, spreads through blood vessels and nerves and finally gets settled in the joints.
