ABSTRACT
Ritu, the season, is divided into many categories based on its influence on the body and the surroundings. Ayurveda has presented different norms and regimens (Charya) for nutrition and behavior to readily adjust to seasonal enforcement without disrupting physiological balance. The primary premise of the Ayurvedic medical system is prevention, which may be done by altering one's diet and habits in reaction to changes in the weather. According to Ayurvedic scriptures, this is an important part of preventative medicine. The Sharad Ritu
includes the months of Ashwin and Kartik, according to the Hindu calendar. In the English calendar, it begins on mid-September and concludes on mid-December. Pitta, which has already collected in the body during Varsha Ritu, melts in Sharad Ritu owing to the scorching rays of the sun, resulting in Prakopa. In Sharad Ritu, Pitta Shamak Aahar Vihar should be followed. Raktamokshan (Bloodletting) is a non-pharmacological intervention in which the vitiated Rakta Dosha, as well as Pitta, is purged from the body utilising various procedures such as Sira vedha, Jaoukavacharna, Shringa, or Prachhana. Though it appears to be intrusive, due to its amazing effects, it is widely anticipated to be used in difficult clinical problems where particular Doshahara Chikitsa has failed to provide relief. According to Sushruta, it is regarded the half-treatment in surgical disorders. Bloodletting procedure adopted in autumn season has preventive and curative importance. In this article, the Sharad Ritucharyas as well as importance of Rakta-mokshan in Sharad Ritu mentioned in the classics of Ayurveda in preventive aspect of diseases have been discussed.
