PHARMACEUTICAL ANALYSIS OF TRAYUSHNACHURNACHURNA AN EFFECTIVE HERBAL COMPOUND FOR PRATISHYAYA IN CHILDREN

ABSTRACT
Respiratory infections are major causes of morbidity in children and particular in developing countries like India. URTI can be correlate with Pratishyaya which manifest due to the migration of the Kapha, Rakta & Pitta from the root of the Nasa pradesha. Ingredients of Trayushnachurna are Sunthi (Zinzeber officinalis), Maricha(Piper nigrum) and Pippali (Piper longum). The present study was carried out to standardize the finished product to establish its identity and quality. Present drug was prepared in the Pharmacy, Gujarat Ayurved University, Jamnagar, by following Standard Operating Procedures (S.O.P.) of preparation of Churna. Physicochemical analysis shows
7.77% w/w loss on drying, 21.15% w/w water soluble extract and 06 pH. High Performance Thin Layer Chromatography (HPTLC) showed 05 & 04 spots at 254 & 366 nm.
