A CLINICAL STUDY ON ‘CHITTODVEGA’ (ANXIETY–NEUROSIS) & IT’S MANAGEMENT BY ‘KSHEERADHARA’ PROCESSED BY ‘ASWAGANDHA, JATAMANSI, VACHA’

ABSTRACT

Anxiety –Neurosis is a mental health disorder characterized by feeling of worry, fear or anxiety that strong to interfere with daily activities. In Ayurveda „Chittodvega‟ means unstable psychic condition may be referred to „Anxiety Neurosis‟. Chittadvega is one type of monavikar caused by two manasadosa –„Raja & Tama‟. In this present study sixteen patients have been selected randomly with help of some “Psychological Scale & Questionnaires‟ from opd of J.B.Roy State Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. “Shirodhara”-a classical & well established process where dripping of medicated oil or decoction or milk is administered on the forehead in continuously in a specific rhythm for stipulated time. In this study “Shirodhara‟ with milk processed by “Aswagandha, Jatamansi, Vacha „have been applied for twenty –one days. After completion of therapy there was a significance improvement in mood scores and the level of stress.(P <0.001).
