ABSTRACT

Ayurveda advocates proper use of drugs to cure many diseases. In this context, Anupana is also described. Anupana is described as integral part of proper Aushadha Yojana. Use of Anupana not only manifolds increase effectiveness of drug but also suppresses its adverse drug reactions. By virtue of properties of Anupana, same drug can act in different ways according to Anupana used. This article explains Nirukti, Bheda, list of Anupana dravya, doses and benefits of Anupana.
