“STUDY ON SELECTION OF ANTIHYPERTENSIVE AGENTS IN PATIENTS WITH CO-MORBID CONDITION IN SUPER SPECIALITY HOSPITAL, TUMAKURU”

ABSTRACT
Background: Hypertension may be a common disease that's simply defined as persistently elevated blood pressure (BP). Although elevated BP was seemed to be “essential” for adequate perfusion of essential organs during the first and middle 1900s, it's now identified together of the foremost significant risk factors for cardiovascular (CV) disease. Increasing awareness and diagnosis of hypertension, and improving control of BP with appropriate treatment, are considered critical public health initiatives to cut back CV morbidity and mortality. Objective: Selection of Anti-hypertensive agents in patients with comorbid condition. Methodology: A Prospective observational study was
carried out for period of 6 months on Study on selection of Antihypertensive agents in patients with co-morbid condition in super speciality hospital, Tumakuru from Febuary 2021 to July 2021. Our total 101 patients were reviewed and assessment on Selection of Anti-hypertensive agents in patients with comorbid condition, where data collection was carried out. Data were collected, analyzed and interpreted using ICF with prospective statics. Result: A pretested, semi-structured data collection form along with patient consent form was prepared for 101 hypertensive patients who are staying in super specialty hospital in Tumkur. Among the respondents, 71 were males and 30 were females. Around 40 comorbid conditions were obtained, and the respective antihypertensive agents were tabulated and plot in bar diagram & pie chart. Conclusion: In this prospective observational study a total of 101 hypertensive cases involving 71 males and 30 females were analyzed during the study period of 6 months and this study reflects the proper selection of anti-hypertensive agents in each and every co- morbid conditions. In some comorbid condition use of combinational therapy will improve the condition with lesser worsening of the disease.
