MANAGEMENT OF HEMORRHAGIC OVARIAN CYST THROUGH AYURVEDA - A SINGLE CASE REPORT

ABSTRACT
The non-neoplastic enlargement of the ovary is due to accumulation of fluid inside the functional unit of the ovary. It can be present from the neonatal period to post menopause. Most of the ovarian cysts occur during infancy and adolescence, which are hormonally active periods of development. These are functional in nature and resolve themselves with minimal line of treatment. In Ayurveda, cyst can be considered as granthi, occurs mainly due to tridoshas, predominantly involvement of vatadosha. A female patient aged 24years came with complaining of severe abdominal pain associated with vomiting since 7 days. Ultrasonography was suggestive of haemorrhagic cyst measuring 4.2*4.1cm. Based on the clinical feature presented by the patient, the
drugs are having property of tridoshahara, lekhana, rasayana are selected. After three months duration of treatment symptoms reduced and there was no presence of cyst observed in ultrasonography.
