ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study is to compare the antifungal activity of formulated Fluconazole gel using natural polymer with marketed formulation. Different formulations were formulated using different concentrations of polymer ratios of Guar Gum & Agar. The agar well diffusion technique was utilized to test the antifungal activity of the formulations against Candida albicans & Aspergillus Niger. The inhibition zone related to each formulation was measured in millimeters after 48, and 72 hours of incubation at 37°C. The highest zone was found in F4 formulation while the lowest was seen in F9 & F8 for C. Albicans & A. Niger respectively. F4 formulation showed an excellent zone of inhibition with 10mm & 18mm diameter. Conclusion, F4 formulation showed more zone of inhibition compared to marketed formulation.
Keywords: Fluconazole, Candida Albicans, Aspergillus Niger, Antifungal Activity.
