ABSTRACT
The purpose our research was to formulate an antibacterial cream containing extract of Quercus infectoria for the treatment of cellulitis, a skin infection. The formulated cold cream is W/O type of emulsion, it has emollient nature and formed a thin layer after application on skin. Antimicrobial test against Staphylococcus aureus was performed and the observed zone of inhibition for F2 and F5 batch was 16 mm and 19 mm respectively. The formulated cold cream batch code F2and F5 was found to be safe and effective for the treatment of cellulitis. It can be concluded that the herbal cold creams having antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties can be used for treatment of skin infections.
