APPLICATION OF LESHA KALPANA IN BHESHAJA, SWASTHA, NIRDESHA CHATUSHKA OF CHARAKA SAMHITA SUTRASTHANA

ABSTRACT

Introduction: Ayurvedic texts has been written in peculiar style, specific methodology that can be understood in detail based on the tools like, Tantrayukti, Tanraguna, Arthaashraya and Kalpana.. Kalpana’s are the textual tool which helps the reader to enhance the understanding of concepts, helps to get the unambigious meaning and its implementation in clinical practice. Kalpana are seven in no, one among them is Lesha Kalpana, which helps to understand the untold matter/ precisely mentioned matter. Sutrasthana of Charaka Samhita is compiled in such a way that the information provided here will have its application on all other sthana’s of the Samhita. Bheshaja Chatushka offers instruments or tools for achieving the Dhaatu saamyata. Swasta Chatushka explains such regimens related to Aahara and Vihaara and Sadvritta for the maintainance of Swaastya. Nirdesha Chatushka expounds different concept related to both Swasta and Aatura. It also explains qualities of Chatushpaada, Prakruta, Vaikruta features of Vataadi dosha etc to understand the Vyaadhi. Objectives of The Study: To study and apply the Lesha Kalpana in Bheshaja, Swastha, Nirdesha chatushka of Charakasamhita sutrasthana. Results: 41 Lesha Kalpana’s found in Bheshaja, Swastha, Nirdesha Chatushka of Charaka Samhiita sutrasthana. Conclusion: Lesha kalpana plays an important role in better understanding of Shaastra and its applicability in clinical practice.
