ABSTRACT
The electrochemical behavior of 6-mercaptopurine (6-MP) drug at
glassy carbon and gold electrodes has been investigated using cyclic,
differential pulse and square wave voltammetric techniques. The
anodic peaks were characterized and the processes were diffusioncontrolled
in both the electrodes. In the range of 6.0 × 10-8 to 1.0 × 10-6
M, the current measured by differential pulse and square wave
voltammetries presents a good linear property as a function of the
concentration of 6-MP with a low detection limit 0.0055 & 0.0028
μg/mL. The proposed method was successfully applied to 6-MP
determination in pharmaceutical samples and in human biological fluids.
