IMPORTANCE OF ASPIRIN IN THE PREVENTION OF CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE- A REVIEW

ABSTRACT
Millions of patients using low dose aspirin on daily basis for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease. It has been shows to decrease vascular events. Aspirin therapy is well accepted as an agent for secondary prevention for cardiovascular diseases and it is also used for primary prevention of cardiovascular disease, to prevent people from cardiovascular events. The risk of bleeding increases with previous gastrointestinal bleeding, peptic ulcer diseases, clotting problems, kidney, and liver diseases and also due to some medications includes NSAIDs, steroids and other anticoagulants. Aspirin should be
care full in all- at risk adults, diabetes older patients and further measures, includes providing patient education are important to ensure proper use of aspirin. We aimed to cast more light on aspirin importance in the primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular diseases.
