ABSTRACT
Guillain–Barré syndrome (GBS) is a rare autoimmune disease affecting the peripheral nerves and nerve roots. It is characterized by ascending symmetrical limb weakness, sensory abnormalities, and absent or diminished deep tendon reflexes. Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) and plasmapheresis are still the current standard of care, which were established in the 1980sto 1990s. A 18 years old male patient was admitted in Government hospital with the complaint of inability to walk and stand. Patient’s lower extremities became weak. Patient was unable to stand up and walk. After
hospitalization treatment was given to patient. Patient was referred to physiotherapy. After labs and blood tests, the results obtained were GBS positive. After obtaining significant result, the patient can be treated. The diagnosis is very difficult. In this condition the patient progressively weakens their extremities.
