Abstract

A PROSPECTIVE OBSERVATIONAL STUDY TO ASSESS CLINICAL PROFILES OF PREGNANT WOMEN HAVING ANEMIA&THEIR MANAGEMENT IN TERTIARY CARE HOSPITAL

ABSTRACT

Anemia is a major public health problem affecting both the developed as well as developing countries. It is a important health issue in pregnancy women. The current study is to assess the clinical profiles of pregnant women having anemia to know their management to prevent further complications like Neonatal mortality, low birth weight, preterm birth. The main objective of the study is to assess the clinical profiles of pregnant women with anemia and to know their management for early prevention of complications in the new born baby during delivery or after birth. A Prospective observational study was conducted in 150 patients by considering the inclusion& exclusion criteria for a period of six months. Overall 150 patients were included in the study out of them pregnant women were mostly observed with mild (9-10 g/dl) anemia (56%), and pregnant women without any past medical history were (72.66%) & past medication history was (75.33%) were observed. While observing occupational& educational status (64.66%) (62%) were seen. when coming to other factors women with first pregnancy (46.67%), gravida (46.66%), para (52%), and without any abortions (88.66%), women with normal vaginal bleeding were (81.33%) were founded. according to our study women’s in second trimester(50%) were observed. When diet was observed people who are consuming vegetables once per day (70.66%), tea &coffee intake (54%&62%) and meat consumption (46.66%) were observed and patients with age between 24-28(59 people) were mostly suffered with anemia.Our study concluded that proper diet and treatment of anemia early may helpful for preventing most of the complications during and child birth. And our study concluded that the treatment of anemia is prescribed with drugs like iron, foliate& vitamin B12 and foods which are rich in iron and foliate also helpful to prevent the anemia early.
