STEM CELLS THE FUTURE OF PHARMACEUTICAL PRODUCTS

ABSTRACT

The project deals with the study of stem cells, the different types of stem cells, stem cells used as regenerative medicine, the application of stem cells drugs on human body, the application of stem cells drugs in different types of therapies, challenges and ethical issues related to the use of stem cells drugs and the future of stem cells as drugs. Stem cells as regenerative medicine aim at helping the body to form new functional tissue to replace lost or defective ones. Human body has an endogenous system of regeneration through stem cells, where stem cells are found almost in every type of tissue. The idea is that restoration of function is best accomplished by these cells. Regenerative medicine comprises the use of tissue engineering and stem cell technology. This summary is not meant to be exhaustive, but aims to highlight present and future applications of stem cells in this exciting new discipline.
