ABSTRACT
Respiratory diseases are so common nowadays due to air pollution, decreased immunity and non-adaptability against environmental stimuli. Kaphaja Kasa is one of the most common diseases of respiratory system described in Ayurveda. It is a type of Kasa with Vata and Kapha dosha predominance. It can lead to various complications such as Shwasa, Kshaya, Jwara etc., if left untreated. Coming to the management, other systems of medicines have lots and lots of limitations. Antibiotics, antihistamines, bronchodilators, expectorants etc. are generally used. Non-judicious use of antibiotics and corticosteroids leads to suppression of host immunity and give birth to antibiotic resistant traits of pathogens. In Ayurvedic texts
various formulations are mentioned for the treatment of Kaphaja Kasa. Shringyadi churna is one such formulation that helps in curing Kasa effectively.
