ABSTRACT
Despite significant successes in the treatment of various human tumors with platinum derivatives and in particular with cisplatin, its clinical application is limited to a relatively narrow range of tumor types. Severe side effects such as nephrotoxicity, peripheral neuropathy, myelosuppression, etc. due to the ineffective accumulation of the drug in the tumor tissue and its interaction with other biomolecules in the body further limit its use. Certain tumor cell lines are characterized by resistance to the cytotoxic effects of cisplatin, and there are examples of resistance after initial administration.
Keywords: cisplatin, cisplatin analogues, antitumor chemotherapy.
