Addagiri Venkatesh*, Aleti Raja Reddy and Dr. T. Ramarao
ABSTRACT
This overview is to merge and elucidate the extensively scattered knowledge on reported studies on potentially, inevitable and systematic analytical procedures which can estimate atenolol. Atenolol is a selective β1 receptor antagonist. The drug belonging to class of beta blockers used primarily in hypertension and cardiovascular diseases. From the reviewed literature I observed that HPLC is a frequentlyaccessible method of testing in pharmaceutical laboratory so this method should be thealternative for absoluteestimation of Atenolol. Choice of analytical methods is resolved by several factors
such as speed, convenience, specificity, accuracy, precision, sensitivity, selectivity, cost, accessibility of instruments, technical expertise and the number of samples to be analyzed.
Keywords: Atenolol, Amiodarone, validation, HPLC, UV.
