SHAKHASHRITA KAMALA: A CRITICAL REVIEW

ABSTRACT
Yakrit is considered as the moolasthana of raktavaha srotas which maintains the quantity as well as quality of rakta. In Ayurveda classics descriptions are available in brihatrayis which explains the involvement of yakrit in several disease conditions and shakhasrita kamala is one such disease entity. This condition is characterized by impaired excretion of mala pitta and its consequent accumulation in shakhas.
