HOMOEOPATHIC TREATMENT OF TINEA CORPORIS

ABSTRACT
Tinea infections, commonly known as ringworm, are caused by a fungal lesion and can be identified by ring-shaped, red, scaly patches with clearing centers. This research was sought to find the efficacy of homoeopathic medicine against the disease tinea corporis and to enlist the homoeopathic medicines that cures the same. The present study comprised of total 30 patients which were selected for the study with predefined inclusion & exclusion criteria. These patients were selected from OPD of Homoeopathic Hospital attached to our College & special camps conducted by our college. Out of 30 cases considered here, 13 cases has shown Recovery (43.3%), 14 cases has Improved (46.67%), while 3 cases hasn’t shown any improvement (10.00%). The most indicated remedy among these was Tellurium i.e. for 6 cases accounting 20.00%. Whereas medicines like Sepia with 5 cases (16.67%), Arsenicum Album & Rhus Toxicodendron with 4 cases (13.33%), Natrum Muriaticum and Sulphur with 3 cases each (10.00%), Lycopdium with 2 cases (6.67%), Graphitis, Nux Vomica & Pulsatilla with 1 case each (3.33%) were also prescribed to the patients by analyzing their Totality of Symptoms. From the analysis of the above results obtained it is apparent that the Homoeopathic medicines are efficacious in treatment of the disease Tinea Corporis. Also certain constitiutional medicines namely Sepia, Arsenic album, Rhus toxicodendron, Natrum muriaticum, Sulphur, Lycopodium, Graphitis, Nux vomica & Pulsatilla are very much applicable in the treatment of Tinea Corporis.
