FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF HERBAL TOOTHPASTE

ABSTRACT
The main objective of the current study is to prepare herbal toothpaste. The demand for herbal based product such as toothpaste is high these days. Peoples believed by using herbal based toothpaste are safe effective and no toxicity, therefore, this study was aimed to formulate and evaluate herbal toothpaste which containing herbal extracts to treat periodontal problem. The toothpaste was formulated using herbal extracts and herbal excipients, namely piper betel leaf, Miswak Vajradanti activated charcoal from nut shell, xylitol, sodium cocyl glutamate, carrageenan, winter green leaf oil, vegetable glycerin, keshar flavour. The formulated toothpaste was evaluated with the standard physiochemical parameters along with the antimicrobial activity.
