ANALYTICAL STUDY OF DRUG PRESCRIBING PATTERN IN PATIENTS OF CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE ON HAEMODIALYSIS

ABSTRACT
Objective: To study the drug prescribing pattern in patients of chronic kidney disease on haemodialysis. Methods: 112 patient who had fulfilled the inclusion criteria were included in study during study period of 12 months. Data was collected according to Drug Prescribing Pattern and analyzed with appropriate statistical tools. Results: Out of 502 drugs, 8.61 drugs/ prescription prescribed in the study showed poly pharmacy, 152 (30.27%) drugs were from WHO essential drug list, 46 (9.16%) FDC and 8 (1.59%) generic drug were prescribed in our study. Conclusion: Patients undergoing hemodialysis with CKD will be having multiple diseases associated. Regular monitoring and counseling regarding these diseases and its complication may reduce the mortality and morbidity associated with CKD.
