CASE REPORT ON MOBILE DEVICE ADDICTION IN AN ADOLESCENT PATIENT

ABSTRACT
Background: The use of mobile phones has dramatically increased in recent years, which led to increase in the reports of mobile phone addiction. According to the 5th International Classification of Mental Disorders, mobile addiction has been introduced as a type of technology-related disorder. Case presentation: A 17 years old male patient came with complaints of aggressive behavior, fight with family members and a relative’s severe irritability for 6-8 months which increased in the past few days. The patient also had symptoms of excessive salivation, tremors, and rigidity in hand, sleep disturbance. Conclusion: People are increasingly using mobile phones rather than
fixed telephones. The cell phone today is a lifeline for many.
