REVIEW ON KARAVEERADYA TAILA

ABSTRACT
Bhaishajya kalpana is a branch in Ayurveda which deals with Aushadha nirmana (Ayurvedic pharmaceutics), Taila kalpana is a Ayurvedic medicated oil preparation for both internal as well as external use, these have very wide range of therapeutic utility in all age groups and in almost all diseases. Aim of this article is to review the Karaviradya taila from various Ayurvedic classical texts, on careful observation found 6 different classical texts written about Karaviradya taila, in total nine Karaviradya taila found, which have different ingredients and indications for various diseases like Kushta, Bhagandhara, Nasarsha, and Lomashatana. It is the rare oil which is prepared and prescribed.
